Vidya Sawant resides with her four family members in Pune. The family led an ordinary livelihood considering their limited income and average financial condition. The only earner in the Sawant family is her father who works as a security guard. However, Sawant always wanted to financially support her family.

Sawant learned tailoring works while studying which led her to pursue a financially stable lifestyle. Her interest in fashion designing inspired Sawant to join the fashion designing course initiated by GTT Foundation in collaboration with RBL Bank. Along with fashion designing, Vidya learned modelling and completed multiple assignments at the same time. She is currently working as a visual merchandiser at Pantaloons. Sawant has been successfully supporting her family from the perspective of finance. She earns Rs. 15,000 per month.
