Being a painter’s wife, artistic things always attracted Nafisa. But she wasn’t sure which area she should work on. Following her interest in stitching, Nafisa self-taught sewing but her work lacked the professional touch. She then joined the GTT Foundation as an Udyogini and learned the soft skills of stitching and sewing. At the beginning of her professional life, Nafisa had issues with her cutting abilities especially the neckline of any clothing piece. She specifically stitches dresses now and produces a minimum of four dresses per month.
Tamboli expresses, “I really struggled with cutting and stitching the neckline of dresses initially. But the training guided me to learn these skills and become a professional designer. I, now confidently take orders and successfully complete those earning a good amount of money.”
